“DUCA” House was built in the beginning of the 20th Century, in the very heart of the city, near the Romanian Athenaeum, between Magheru Boulevard and Victoriei Avenue. The building permit was submitted in 1909, by the famous architect of that time, Ernest Doneaud (1879-1959), for Maria and Alexandru Duca. More than 100 years later, this emblematic house stands as testimony of the aristocracy from that era, perfectly integrated in today’s fast-paced and bustling life of the Capital.

Visarion Church, Zaharoff Villa, Strajescu Villa, Royal Palace Hotel and Lido Hotel are some of the emblematic buildings designed by Ernest Doneaud in Bucharest.

The French – Romanian architect was a favorite of the society in the first half of the 20th Century and his works include pieces in eclectic, Romanian Revival, Art Deco and modernist styles.
